Mia is 10 years old and we live in Berlin, Germany.
Mia was diagnosed with Pearson Syndrome at the age of 3 months. After 2 years of blood transfusions she had very bad acidosis for another 3 years. Mia was quite stable after that. Since then, we had other problems. She has severe hearing loss, neurological problems, and is losing her eye side and weight. She needs a wheelchair now and most of the time we have to feed her.
Even after all of that, she is still happy, always smiling and laughing and so careful of other people. We are so lucky to have this girl as daughter and sister.
