Put Yourself in Their Shoes The story of the Champ Foundation is a love story. Madison loved and became close to many of the Miami Children's Hospital staff, but had a special bond with Rey Perez, a pharmacy technician. They called each other CHAMP. His relationship with, and love for our son, was the driving force behind establishing The Champ Foundation. Along with Rey and other families touched by tragedy, we want to continue the mission our brave children inspired. As parents, we are our children's strongest advocates, so we are dedicating our time to honor these "unsung heroes" by helping other families battling cancer. Madison was a ray of sunshine- his big twinkling eyes lit up the whole world. The Champ Foundation seeks to keep that light shining for families in need of hope. Fighting for a child's life encompasses every moment of every day. We are easing the burdens and filling in the gaps for these families where other services and foundations do not. By doing so we are able to relieve some of the pressures so mothers and fathers can be at their child's bedside where are needed the most, especially single parents and families with many siblings. We try to help the entire family. Gregg Knox, Vice-President & Heidi Knox, Co-Founder & Board Member Madison Knox touched my life in a very special way. This foundation allows me to express how much he meant to me by helping other families. The pain and suffering of a child with Cancer is overwhelming for the entire family. With your contributions we have helped hundreds of families and given them hope for a better tomorrow. Despite amazing research progress, Cancer still kills more children than any other disease. Every year, over 11,000 children/teenagers are diagnosed with Cancer. Thank you for helping our mission touch the lives of these families in crisis. Rey Perez Feel free to call us if you have any questions. |
